Issue Position

Expanding public education to support universal preschool and making community colleges tuition-free is essential to keeping America competitive in the global economy. We need to diversify our higher educational options, make those options accessible to all, and provide the solid foundation that is needed for economic advancement in today's world.

Student debt is crippling young people's chances for achieving the American dream. I will work to tackle student debt by supporting legislation that will make community colleges and in-state public colleges and universities free for families earning less than $125,000 per year, and affordable for all.
I will support legislation that will allow borrowers to refinance loans at current rates and limit debt repayment to no more than 10% of income and forgive all debt after 20 years.
I will support funding for technical and career schools that will train students for practical, well-paying jobs in the tech-based economy.
